Making a shopping list for a big prep shop. Mostly tinned food,I can’t squeeze anything else into the freezers. Also I will stop off at the local garden centre to stock up on more seed packets for next years planting.

called into lidel on my way home and they had mulitpurpose rope(looks like climbing rope)30m length for £4.99,so two of them went into the trolly,1 to keep in the car and one in my van, also had 1st aid kits for the same price

At the risk of stating the obvious, it won't be actual climbing rope. Don't try climbing with it!

I keep rope in;the blue synthetic stuff. It’s useful for lashing down emergency tarps, holding up busted fence posts etc. In fact ,tarpaulins I need to look at,as my stash is getting used to cover mahoosive piles of firewood right now ,and they do degrade. You never know when you may need to make temporary roof repairs and suchlike.

Add some thin bailer twine to the heap ideally a spool ..jansman wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 5:01 pm I keep rope in;the blue synthetic stuff. Great for getting ropes then sheets over roofs from the ground...
Had some damage at work caused by a tornado a good few years back...
Big 1" drive socket tied to the bailer twine ... Check other side is clear and lob over the roof tie rope to twine pull rope over house X2 or 4 then tie to tarp eyelets then pull the ropes evenly up it goes without the need to get on the roof.. won't work in all situations but it's a safer option if possible bar the flying socket
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong
