Basic cake mix 3 months storage

15 cups flour
9 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups cornflour
7 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 3/4 cups trex



blend until crumbs store in airtight container

Does the cornflour make it a Madeira-type dry cake WM ? stop it going soggy ? You could add glace cherries if so, and make a fine cherry cake. My fav :twisted:

I am not sure what the cornflour does, but it has to be included, yes you can add cherries, but on mixing up i think not as in with the mix, i am not sure about cherry shelf life, also you can add raidins or currants

Yea, I would add cherries when you're ready to bake. In some cakes, you add cornflour or semolina to give a lighter drier consistency. I used to make fantastic big cherry cakes when my kids were at home.

The guidelines are water, or you can make it with half water half milk, or half water and half made up marvel
