Welcome aboard.

When your looking for an HF (short wave) rig take at good look at the Xiegu G90, runs happily on a 12v battery or mains power supply, digitally enabled for digital FT8 et al and small enough to use for mobile/portable use; its the rig I use in the shed/mancave.

No connection just a customer who appreciates great service https://www.sinotel.co.uk/index.php?mai ... cts_id=183

Well worth joining a local club where you'll get the chance to use and learn how to use rigs plus you'll meet hams who generally will go out of their way to help you.

PS Your never too old to learn Morse ;)
