Power experts.....

What do you think of this.... 260W Used solar panel and all the bits bar the inverter.....

£313

Sounds good, apart from being pre-owned and that lack of inverter.

37V bare panels.... Is that unusual for the home market? £62 each?

As a Jackery Owner (E240 and E1000) I would advise getting an Ecoflow. Nothing wrong with Jackery, but technology has moved on.

https://uk.ecoflow.com/pages/portable-power-stations

as for USB lightbulbs I have these:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Onite-Camping- ... p_d_rp_3_t
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

When you said your head is fried don't go rushing out spending

Workout what you need Vs duration Vs charge time and what are you hoping to run from it?

For lighting a standalone set of solar lights free up the power station for other jobs .
.I'm at the point untill the really long dark night's and the nightly use exceeds recharging input most rooms in the house are lit by solar lights such as these

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Solar-Pendant- ... eature_div

Had a set of these for over a year and just ordered a second set the lamps are not waterproof like they claim but they work well enough in doors

Oh and if your a ex chippy and have any more recent battery tools look into the usb adapters to suit your battery by type for another power source theyll probably eclipse most cheaper power banks

For example

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Makita-DEBADPP ... 960&sr=8-3

https://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-dcb09 ... ptor/85704

20v batteries they last ages I've never flattened one
with it suppose I ought to soak test it at some point

Not sure if i can use th words on here but bl***** hell that looks the dogs , i have a huge amount of dewalth batteries lol yup and my tools are some 25 years old and run better than new stuff i am as the wife says a nut when it comes to clean and sharp tools , i learnt at a very young age keep them sharp and they last a life time .
I am working out what we would run in truth andy we have a large stock of lighting paraffin , candle , gas and my most loved the wind up lanterns , it is just looking on here it is trying to do other stuff to make sure we have light and for cooking well again i am old school i love the old paraffin stoves and have refurbed a fair few to like new and i have a rippingille oven stove that works great and have been refurbed , i am not new to perpping just this site and omg you lot have some great ideas and like the one you just gave me i have not seen these as being out of the trade these days i don't get to tool shop as much as i liked lol .

I am trying to make sure the wife and i have every base covered i know it will never happen there is always something else but well as much covered as possible , like you say if you are roughing it your doing it wrong or the one i like fail to prepare , perpare to fail .

thank you again and if i can ever help always happy to pass on what i know , i am addict to emp protection right now trying to work out how to protect my pacemaker , i am building faraday boxes and sorting out mini laptop large laptop hard drives to store stuff on and also lots of small memory sd cards to save my books on , i just brought the no grid projects book omg well worth the money .

thanks again
Ps are we allowed to talk air guns on here i have large collection and also other stuff like that and i refurb older springer rifles and would pass on any help i can with that area

We do generally stay away from fire arms and weapons i
In as it soon descends into chaos and bordering on legalitys be it someone putting a box spring and
or shimming it to go beyond 12ft lb without a fac or poaching for examples

Obviously if someone is after genuine assistance we will permit it within reason we do have members and moderators who shoot in various forms. I used to do a lot of farm pest control but 3 kids / work / life gets in the way now the wife doesn't like the idea of me vanishing for a weekend lumping her with triple trouble

I like the random collection of kit approach take stoves a selection of type doesn't hurt if you can't get one cartridge type chances are you can get another somewhere in town or fuel be it Coleman white gas / petrol / paraffin / bio ethanol / chaffing gell / wood depending on what stove/s you have :geek:

As for the emp risk I don't let that one bother me too much as if that happens keeping my phone in a tin box won't matter as there will be no phone network running for example most basic battery kit will survive unless it's a huge event biggest reason to have some form of faraday box / tin/ pouch is to shield your car keys from the X box generation of car thieves who emulate the signal your car key is emitting to enter and start your car as for the pacemaker most are designed to resist damage from a defibrillator so should stand up to a random electric pulse
