Yeah but those are very different situations to long term survival after a breakdown of the world as we know it. All those natural disasters for me at least would require leaving. Get out as fast as possible with the 72 hour kit, or even better bug out vehicle, and/or go stay with relatives etc. Even Holiday Inn is viable then! Best survival tool at that point is probably a credit card... As soon as the disaster is over, and if you survived it, you would return.
