Well for all you nayserrs, trolls and No-it-alls, i am expecting the usual same old ridicule. You'd all do the same if in my position.
If nothing happens, then nothing happens, it would of been a good test of all my systems and practises.
My limit for re-assessment and possible return would be in around March / April time. Until then i'll keep updates for anyone interested.
But at the moment i have water, supplies, comms, food etc etc.

Quaid, you must make your own decisions , as we all do. I would not criticize you for your actions. You have taken positive action to a perceived threat, which in my book is a good thing. regardless of what any one else say I say good on ya Mate.

Also we are eating as normal and doing the normal shopping run (although a bit further away this time). Our stash remains our stash!
Will be focusing this week on heating and water catchment.
I am a bit confused Quaid! You said you have gone to your BOL to avoid contamination - but you are still doing the 'normal' shop. Is this not defeating the object???

Also who is 'we' and 'our' you refer to? You taken a partner?

Yes, i am in a fairly remote location which i can still access shops although the trip is a bit further than before, comms are accessible.
My theory is that any location is better than a populous one in this case.

If I had your resources and opportunities, Quaid I would doing the same, only I wouldn't be bugging out, I'd be living there permanently.Sounds like heaven to me, quiet, secure, miles from anyone, private, self-sufficent. Trying not to sound too green with envy

Unfortunately I don't have such a haven, don't plan to bug out, but keep a close eye on the situation and never say never.

If it should come to it, I will be grateful for any information you have posted here on your (hopefully just) experiment. Good luck.

Good to see you mention future planning. It seems the rate of infection may be slowing , but not stopping , so it may be that the disease arrives in the UK later rather than sooner (assuming it arrives) . Does your plan remain flexible enough to extend your bug out period past mar/apr?

Quaid, I am not knocking you believe me, if I was in you financial position I would do the same, the only difference would be I wouldn’t be going shopping, I would have the local Tescoasdaburys to deliver the goods. I would make them leave the said goods at the end of the drive, I would then wipe down each with a 99.9% Anti-bac. I have been tweeting #ebola @mizzach for a while and update the 1600 or so followers with stats and news. I also understand the lies or mis-information that gets published by the CDC and WHO, the numbers they publish are wrong by a factor of x2.5 or x3…maybe higher. If we don’t act now as a race against Ebola the numbers don’t look good.

Each day I take 9 homemade anti-viral pills, I have been taking these for about 18 months now, so I have worked in the normal infected office environment, sat next to a chap that appears to have a constant stream of god only knows what leaking from his nose and never gotten a cold.

The Pills I take contain, shite hot chilli powder, garlic powder, Turmeric, Ginger powder, I buy the empty capsules on amazon and fill them myself. And no for some reason the chilli doesn’t hurt 8 hours later, I think it has something to do with not being chewed.

Anyway Quaid good luck.
