(We pretty much had to sit on youngest when we did strawberry powder last week. She was snarfing them down at a rate of knots astonishing for one so young!)
In agree they are the most delicious little morsels and yes, I eat more than I put away... thankfully the season is about to commence again so my trays will be busy, as will my mouth

Are you doing them whole or slicing them ? I'll maybe give them a go, same with rasps, the king of berries for me.
When I was wee, my Grandpa told me that when he was a kid, he'd go strawberry picking to make some cash, and they had to have one qualification; they had to be able to whistle. Not just a bit, the whole time they were working.
Sneaky
Deeps:
We sliced them. And didn't bother hulling them, since we were making powder

Thanks for getting back Redskies. I'll be looking to use them as 'sweets' so slices will probably be fine. Just trying to expand my repertoire of dried fruit for 'scooby snacks'.

Brilliant, I would have had to find a way to whistle and eat!
Love strawberries, happy childhood memories of picking with my four siblings and mum, in glorious sunshine *sigh*

Well despite the distraction of the referendum I've got some more capsicums and chillies dehydrated. Her Maj did one of her sweet and sour's tonight so I've got about 2/3rds of a pineapple to get done next, we've got some bananas that are past their prime too. Tomorrows prepping mission sorted then.
I have just dehydrated a lot of chives, just need to snip them into a jar.
I made apricot jam today, the remaining apricots are going on the dehydrator tomorrow along with some strawberries, the remaining strawberries are going to be canned in a simple syrup.
Ooh and I did the marmalade, got 5 jars of orange goodness in the pantry cupboard!
Jansman - how are you getting on with your machine??
