Some plastic bottles are made with plastics containing Bisphenol A (BPA) which is not a good thing to get in your system. Try to by water in BPA free bottles. Either way if the SHTF and you don't have water you won't survive after three days so BPA's would be the least of your problems. If you are using bleach to sterilize the water remember to use regular bleach not the scented variety.
It may never happen. Best to be prepared just in case.

And remember that Bleach has a shelf life of between 3 and 6 months.

Good point Leo1, you can't store bleach effectively for long periods of time. However bleach is something we all use in the home so buying an extra bottle or two and rotating your supplies is definitely the way to go. Old bleach is not useless you just have to use more of it because its strength degrades over time.
It may never happen. Best to be prepared just in case.
