Not exactly just for show AWR, the HK MP5 is a very accurate semi-automatic 9mm weapon, alot more accurate than using the Glock 17 handgun.

Yeah, as you said, the police will be out with their single-shot MP5s. Funny how those guns are purely for show - single-shot (no full-auto on police issue models) 9mm I think, so they may as well just be carrying pistols...

Who needs a short full auto weapon on the streets of the UK though, no need for spray and pray, single aimed shots are the right and proper way, especially on urban streets, might be OK in field combat, but the UK used single shot weapons for decades after the full auto came in for many countries, 9mm SMGs are pretty useless over 50mtrs, more likely to annoy than to kill

The new 5.56 police weapon systems are much more accurate for longer distances.
