Just made a spreadsheet. Gonna track heating/gas used over the next few months, comparing it to last year. Will record kWh used and £ for each day, then insert average for month row/formula. This is a basic free app on any iPhone, easier on desktop. Apple Numbers. It adds up my monthly finances, bugout bag content weights etc. I've not really used spreadsheets at any jobs I've had, but this is pretty easy to use.
Mainly it's the price rises, but also partly 'cos I got a new boiler with a thermostat.

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

Not needed today, the whole day was glorious weather the turnout broke records. Met old mates and made some new. My feet are killing me and my calves want to assist. Only I would have two Units to visit and them be at opposite ends of the site.
The Spitfire and Lancaster fly past just about drowned out the noise from the bikes.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

From 28.15 the filming starts.
33.58 flypast

Finally bought a winter coat. Not the one I had planned (M&S), but a cheaper one from TK Maxx. It's like a puffer jacket coat, but water resistant and not as puffy. I think I'll be warm
I picked up some pickling onions so I'll be doing those soon. I wonder if the onion harvest was poor this year, as last year, the shop was laden with the damn things. This year, really not so much.

Remember the rule of the 7 P's, proper planning and prepperation prevents piss poor performance...

I've bought a second hand Blu Ray/DVD player and toured the local charity shops at the weekend buying up a load of movies/box sets to watch - they are SO cheap now - I averaged five DVDs for £1.00! My old DVD player gave up the ghost when I dropped it on the floor...
You may not think it's a prep as such, but I won't be doing much during the winter months, to save money, so this was a bit of a no-brainer for me. I do have a Sky package/Netflix and Prime Movies but it's amazing how quickly you can run out of things to watch, even with a gazillion channels.
