Not really prep, but got most of my winter gear out. I moved some of my summer socks to a drawer on the landing, and all my winter socks into my room. I'm still in summer socks, but not the trainer ones that are very short. Prep-wise, I already shifted ouround most of my summer and winter stuff. All logged on a spreadsheet.

Went for a bike ride and miscalculated - was too warm. Was glad I had a long sleeved top on though. Had to take off my hat and wind jacket. It was 12°C, sunny.

Just been shopping and had my cheapest shop in a long time - because I couldn't bring myself to buy anything but the absolutely needed. So I need to sit down now and plan my gardening for next year with more precision than usual as I need to get nearer to self sufficency quicker than planned.
I know until that happens I will have to buy food or use my stocks up. I suppose i'll just have to mentally prepare myself before going near a supermarket again but I cannot bring myself to pay the prices some things are so will have to make changes to our diets.

Your so right i use to when we went in the supermarket love to wander and buy stuff , but these days we well due to covid and not being able to have the jab shop mainly online and have found ways to cut the bills a bit by bulk buying .

We grow a lot of our own veg but unless you have a small holding it is hard to go completely self sufficent because of the uk weather and light , you can do it but again it can be a struggle , as i say we have a greenhouse double lined a polytunnel and a huge veg garden and rasied beds but even for us it is hard because we have 2 big freezer to store and we tyr and save as much as we can but we find that we do have to give large amounts away , there is only so much pasta sauce you can freeze lol yup toms go in most stuff at this time of year .

If you can get a book call self sufficents by john seymour that is well worth a read i used that as a jumping in piont when we got our 2 allotments it is a big help , also watch what you grow , it is ok growing broad beans if you like them but if you are a family of 4 and only you like them it is silly to take the bed up for them .

I am sure there are many growers here , if i can help pass any knowledge your way happy to help .

I have just purchased a new led hydro grow as in the picture i put on here as we like fresh herbs but you can start so much in them next year to and get a head start on the season

It's hard. Went for a couple of things the other day and came back with several, including biscuits, which just make me put weight on. I might have to start using cash, just taking enough. I have to have fibre, but not too much, so I buy the 50 50 bread, but it's expensive now apart from Aldi where it's still 69p. But if I can find the room, I might get one 36p white and one 36p wholewheat, and have one of each in a butty. I can freeze some of it. I also usually cut the slices down with a knife or scissors, so I only have one and a third slices.
