I'll have you know I have a massive ego  ..... However I do keep it locked in a box so as not to annoy other people

How about this as a mental exercise.
If your power shut off right now, what would you need to do and have ?
If it was still off this time tomorrow, what else would you want ?

I have several bags of Carte Noir and a tub of Stevia laid aside already. Life would be hard enough for my loved ones without the horror of me minus a regular supply of hot coffee :). Just need to figure out the milk!!!

speaking as a OCD prepper...........

I have a wind up camp lantern next to me on the window shelf by my PC.....

PC is off MEH never mind.......

heating is gas / gas fires (gas fires still work when leccy is off as long as its not a major national SHTF no gas been pumped situation )

same with water

but no food shopping as tesco will be out...

car full of fuel = out of town to shop

gas cooker + matches = hot food / drink..... fall back includes camping stove

frozen food= wrap freezer in blankets and old sheets to conserve cold and open only if needed,., if off long term cook meat joints and salt......

got a camping fridge that would run on LPG 8kg gas would last for aprox 2 weeks
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine
