My first thought was, someone else to put up the decorations and or cook   But we'll settle for something that goes bang 8-)
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

He did do with the Parangs.

Some Gerber products are great (or so I've read on other Prep forums) but some are absolute whale dreck (ditto). Caveat Emptor applies...... I'd suggest trying to find some reviews ("British Blades" website springs to mind )
(also it looks good yes im a victim)

We always freeze veg (home gown) but ALWAYS run out of space and I'd like to try some alternative methods of food preservation. So- just out of interest, does anyone have a recommendation re Food Dehydrator?
Expensive but the best reviews I found

http://www.ukjuicers.com/excalibur-5-tr ... ator-white

Bought it over the summer and have used it loads. Dehydrated carrots, onions, sweetcorn, mushrooms, raspberries, strawberries, pineapple (which is lush, just like little sweets!) and made fruit leathers. All stored in Kilner jars and will be used throughout the winter.

I am after a Citizen Eco Watch (solar powered). Unfortunately due to financial constraints there won't be much else and I'll be saving hard to purchase from a long list next year.

Where do I start ;) But to keep it within the realms of my real life a couple of ducks or a food dehydrator will do for me.

I'm not looking much this year as we are planning on buying a house soon so all spare cash is going in the deposit so just looking a Mora knife and a sharpening kit.
Not planning for the end of the world just to survive till normality resumes, while sticking to the scout moto be prepared!

Still considering do I want to survive the end of the world or deck chair on the front lawn with a cold beer?
