Zantac is used to treat and prevent ulcers in the stomach and intestines. It also treats conditions in which the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Zantac also treats gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions in which acid backs up from the stomach into the esophagus, causing heartburn.

Hope this explains it ok :)

Try Nurofen Plus (or generic equivilant) as it contains 200mg of ibuprofen and for an extra kick 12.8mg of codeine.

Or Solpadeine Max (or again generic equivalent) as it contains 500mg Paracetamol and the again added kick of 12.8mg of codeine.

Bering in mind you can take 2 of each together that's over 50mg of codeine which should take the edge off most pain! Just be aware of possible issues you might have taking codeine etc. oh and be careful because long term use of the stuff can be addictive.

As with all medical advice don't just take a poster on the internets word for it. Use your common sense and see a doctor if you've any doubts!

The quantities of codeine from those sources makes them a very low risk of addiction issues.

generic and branded are the same, but some have additional active ingredients. they are what you need to watch out for. as has been said Ibuprofen and paracetamol or codine based drugs can be take together, best advice is if you are taking ibuprofen every 4 hours take the paracetamol 2 hours later. just remember not to go over the stated dose (particularly with paracetamol).

buy generic it is cheaper..

One other thing to add is that some over the counter pain relief say "Plus" on the box and when reading the ingredients the plus is caffeine - so maybe take your ordinary analgesic with a strong cuppa coffee!

Speaking of generic meds, I always ask the pharmacy in Sainsburys for the generic Piriton :Chlorphenamine 4mg as its much cheaper per box of 28. (Baring in mind that hay fever season will soon be upon us.)
