Should I store water

on the subject of water . assuming you have power , has any one given any thought to a dehumidifier . as we all know these power water literaly out of thin air .

I would probably recommend a water butt or something of that Ilk, seeing as you say wettest country on the planet.
One day you will probably thank that get stream and wettest place on the planet.

As well as waterbuts I have 3 gallon in the fridge. It will need purifying before drinking, but at least i have it

don`t get me wrong , i have plenty of bottled water 1.5`s 2`s and 5 ltr and about 18lts in the bottom of the freezer .its just an idea as i have a dehumidifier here .

Can i ask why some of ya keep your water in the freezer or fridge? It maybe a thick question to some, but i don't know, so i have to ask someone that does know.

What a good idea

On the subject of storing water, I heard that water stays permanently fresh in an underground tank. Considering it's out of sunlight it seems to make sense. Does anyone know if this is true?

Ok I know I've only been a member for a few hours, and already I'm on my second topic, but so many questions....

I live near 2 or 3 water reservoirs, I also have limited home storage. I've been assuming that living so near these water reservoirs (and living in the what seems the wettest region of the wettest country on the planet) I don't need to worry too much about water...

But after reading some posts on this forum, I'm thinking maybe I don't want to take that 5 minute walk, and leave my family unprotected, maybee that resivor will become unreachable (if theres a demand then the people with the guns will take ownership of it)...

So how do you store water, should I store it as it falls from the sky (and keep a few boxes of sterilization tabs for when I can't boil), plus a few liters ready to drink?

quick answer is yes store water , what if it does not rain for a couple of weeks and theres a drought , or what if you cant get out to the reservoirs as you said , even a couple of weeks worth of stored water could be a life saver , rember you can live 3 weeks with out food but only 3 days with out water

Water is probably the most important resource any one can have whether an apocalyptic prepper or some one who just wants to flush the loo during a water outage (burst pipe etc.)
The thing about water is you can find it almost anywhere but some times the energy it can take to get to it can be quite extreme (two desert wars of experience behind me) so I have always stored water as a commonsense measure water butts bottled water and my own spring in the garden even built my own filtration plant (sounds grander than it is).
