when im out and about in the country and foul weather hits i just unpack my 2 man bothy bag'it just takes seconds to set up and your out of the wind and rain nice and comfy ! granted they cost around £20 but they are life savers and only weigh a couple of hundred grams.

get an ex army type Poncho( not the cheap plastic thingy) £8.95+£4.80 p&p, use it in rainy weather but can be opened up to form a tarp.

Oh wow, I have a bothy bag. Have had it for a few years now for when I'm up in the mountains with my father. It's great to climb into when the wind and rain comes down... I can recommend these too!
