CC, hope you get her, sounds like she could do with a bit of good luck. Be warned.. Newfie+water=swimming dog+owner(if you're stupid enough to hang on to the lead) I once saw an adult Newfie try and fit into one of those outdoor fish tanks at a garden centre!
I was just doing a bit of reading up on them and one of the things mentioned was that if you go camping with them never ever let them carry your sleeping bag (or any other kit you want to keep dry), they said as soon as they see a river they are in it and swimming

Moocher, we nearly ended up with an American bulldog x but it detested cats and we have a cat....lovely dog though

I've had a Newfie when I was a bit younger and did exactly just that (hanged on to the lead) and ended up in a pool full of fish/frogs, etc. The dog was almost as heavy as I was that time so had little chance trying to stop him. They are amazing dogs but require a lot of attention to their coat and they eat A LOT :D

I really admire you CC for taking all of your pets from rescue centres, I do the same.

So far we have had 5 rotties and they have all been rescue ones of varying shapes, sizes, and age. I just cant buy a dog from a breeder when there are so many unwanted ones around. I know some breeders are decent and responsible but there are too many who just see dogs as money making machines and then discard them when they are worn out and no longer profitable

If we ever won the lottery MrsCC would probably take in every stray in the UK :D

Picking up the little girl tomorrow :D

Its only a month since she was rescued from the puppy farm and the photos that were taken of her that day would make you want to cry, or in my case, want to have a very long "chat" with the people concerned.

Will post a pic when she has settled in a bit :D

She really has a sweet nature despite being locked in a cage all her life breeding puppies, likes everyone and everything, unfortunately she has just learned how to walk up the stairs today, lets hope she doesn't learn how to get on the bed
