I plan on knowing where I can get replacement supplies of all types from the local areas and once I establish the state of play I would plan to put into effect resource gathering as needed
- I actully have amap of my local town and industrial area with symbols which i can look at, at a glance and see what is inside using a simple legend for example T=Tools, F=Food, W=Weapons, BS=Building supplies, Fu=Fuel etc etc i figure during the restock phase after my 3 month supply is gettin low it will be time to go shopping.
depends on the situation
- i guess they can vary depending on what you prep for but overall they will result in the same overall actions. Unless i run out of Jammie dodgers know there is a scenario i wish to never face!!!

I have a map of Devon, on which i mark supplies closest to me, 5,10,and 20miles radius, i also mark any suitable empty bug out properties.

That's exactly my plan, I will have a map with locations, type, size, visibility on there so I can make good decisions on where supplies may still exist when the local supermarkets / pharmacies have been emptied. Sometimes the least likely places can have nice supplies. Tattoo shops for medical and sterilisation stuff anyone? :D

For sterilization, you would / could use alcohol. For alcohol maybe a home made still would be a good move?
Work out which things you can make at home and maybe accumulate the things that you need to make them?

Okay, everyone took the example too literally!! Bloomin preppers finding 20 different ways to slice the example

I was merely pointing out with (insert less obvious example here) that when push comes to shove after a particular event, thinking outside the box could be advantageous....

I'll get my coat...
