On the hunting level, i spent a weekend in cornwall with friend of Ray Mears, who showed us how to catch small animals, such as rabbits. We were also taught how to construct shelters, light fires from everyday stuff (mobile phones), and much more... That coupled with a healthy intrest means I'm semi-well equipped!

Wasnt with a bloke called 'Spanner' Manley was it? Ex LI jungle warfare instructor? Lighting fires with mobile phones? Didnt include steel wool did it? ;)

And a shelter without tarp or string

Lighting a fire with a mobile phone...i assume you mean a short circuit across the batterys anode and cathode onto a piece of steel wool

Did you actually catch anything?I used to make a living trapping rabbits and pelt hunting foxes.A lot of these courses are mainly theory, and frankly leave a lot to be desired.I am not having a go,but whatever you learn, particularly where trapping is concerned has to be practise, practise.
