Hello from Hampshire

Post by MMG »

Hello! Im quite new to prepping and found it accidentally about a year ago. I realised then I already had a lot of useful knowledge from previously having been involved in living history (camping without modern stuff!) Its a good skill set that I'm glad I have and am happy to share.

Hello,

I'm sure there's a few more on here as well as me that would like to know more about living history camping, tell us more about it.

Briggs
I recently experienced Plymouth City centre so that's why I prep.

I did 15th C. LH, for those who don't know, is a living display of a particular period in history. So doing things as they would have done. Learning as many aspects of a people who lived without what we take for granted and living that way at shows as an educational tool for the public. Things like how they dealt without a clean water supply, food storage and preservation, the list of relevant things is pretty endless. History is a very useful tool to have. I'm sure I'm not alone with that thought.

Yes, we cannot underestimate how much we can learn from history. Do you make a lot of the gear yourself or do you have any recommendations for shops or websites where we could be historical living related gear?
