Cumbrian Newcomer

Post by ulyssesgrant »

Just a quick introductory post from me. I'm new to the site but not so new to prepping I suppose. I joined the site to try and learn new things, but also to perhaps post on areas where I know I have have useful experience. I got into prepping by accident, a bizarre accident leading me to read a book by J W Rawles. It was a bit of an epiphany, and I went on to delve further into it. Ultimately it lead to my wife and I relocating from Yorkshire to Cumbria last year (due to opsec I wont say where...). The work we both did allowed it happen, though it was bloody difficult at times! We are now lucky enough to live in an area that is away from large areas of population (as mush as anywhere in England is it must be said...), heavily wooded, water is plentiful, we grow food (not a great deal right now!) and are slowly developing a more 'simple' approach to life I guess....

Now I'd like to develop how I prep further, and get to know more people here. Its heartening to see so many people posting on something like this. It would be interesting to perhaps eventually meet like minded people, thought thats something for the future. Being prepared is something done better in a group to be most effective...
