Hi from sunny Devon

Post by Tabbi »

Hi, I'm Kat. I live in North Devon with my 19 year old son. I'm completely new to prepping but I've seen enough news articles lately to make me think it's a smart move. I have no idea where to start so I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction :)

Welcome Kat

Imagine what you would run out of first if for some reason you couldn't get to the shops, and if you would be majorly inconvenienced without it... stock more, it's not all about the end of the world as we know it, so start and think snowed in, or if you can see the need what would I want/need to with me if I had to get out?
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

hello kat and welcome to the forum , where to start well making a cup of tea and reading some of the threads is a good way to start , a more practical start would be to add a little bit to your weekly shopping budget just for preps, adding a few extra tins and packets soon add up

Hi Kat.

Welcome to the forum.

My advice is to take it all in small steps, dont run before you can walk.

For example "what would happen if I couldn't get to the shops for a week?" Do you have enough food? What about water? If not, start to stocking up with your weekly shopping, couple of tins here, packet of pasta there all adds up. Dont forget to stock rotate.
