Hi from London

Post by IamSpartacus »

Hi Guys

I'm kinda new to the whole prepping idea but i've had it on my mind for a couple of years now, with various world events one of my main concerns is food shortage in the coming years, this leading to riots/looting etc.

I live in the North London not massively far away from the riots in 2011, we were saved by the local turkish community who came out in force with kebab knives and bats in hand to protect their property. With Boris closing police stations and fire stations it just seems like a matter of time before things kick off and once again not the man power to stop it.

As much as i love the thought of bugging out we live in a densely populated area and of course London traffic; bugging in seems the safer option for myself and my better half.

I'm primarily here looking for ideas on what are good foods for storage and also water, we have the smallest 1 bed flat and storage is a problem.

Perhaps a little on the old home defence too, we have one entrance with a stair well which could be blocked pretty easily and a baseball bat ;).

Anyhoo thanks for reading .

Spartacus.

hello and welcome .

storage in a small flat can be a bit of a problem , how ever , some beds have slides on the side .this can make a good area to hide stores ,if its not full of other stuff . even behind furniture , have you looked at the kick boards on your kitchen units . you could easily fit 4 trays of food under there .same goes for wardrobes . use a food grade bucket with a table cloth over it and put a lamp on top .instant table .
YES i walked away mid sentence , you were boring me to death and my survival instincts kick in .
