Hi from southend. I have always had the thought that a world changing event will occur in my lifetime but having recently had a child (6weeks) and it has really made me think its not just me i have to look after now, if something does happen so i thought i better be more prepared. Im a complete newbie to it so i need to start from scratch unfortunatly my OH thinks im a bit nuts, so it is a bit difficult. She is slowing coming around but it may take a while before i can buy a bunker.

Welcome to the forum.
Funny how having children suddenly changes your mindset!
Don't worry about a bunker, you main concern should be food, water, heat/shelter, alternative lighting and cooking.
Plenty on here to read. If you have any questions just ask.

Welcome. At least when TSHTF you can go two miles out to the end of Southend pier and set fire to the middle to cut yourself off from the post apocalyptic gangs on the mainland.

I'm in Essex, but further west, on the Thames.
And many, many childhood days out in Southend...
