Hi from the south west

Post by Sheepster »

Hi all, Ive been reading through the forum for a good while now and have been prepping to a certain extent for years. We always try to grow our own veg but this year will be getting a polytunnel for extended growing seasons, We keep chickens for eggs and meat and due to where we live are lucky enough to get ample free supplies of pheasants. Also due to where we live we have at least a weeks supply of canned food, water, heating and lighting, Not a great deal but its a start. We see first hand the effects of panic buying in our local shop whenever it snows or floods so it seems prudent to take things a bit further, Ideally Id like enough food for a year for a family of four. Im in the process of getting my firearms licence so that will bring more free food. We arent prepping for zombies, meteor impacts or anything like that we do worry about the ever increasing costs of living and especially food. Anyway I think thats enough for now lol, Look forward to getting to know people on here .

Hi guys, I live in dulverton, somerset. Very rural here which is the basis for my prepping, As soon as there is a hint of snow the local co-op is emptied and the next nearest shop of any note is 15+ miles away.

Looking at the forecast for the end of the week I am glad we do what we do, Must admit its a nice feeling knowing if the power goes and were snowed in for a while it wont really bother us :D
