Just market forces. Precious metals always fluctuate when the world is turning to custard :lol: All my silver is in profit, and the junk gold I have is too. Not selling it though.

Gold: £1655.61 per troy ounce

Silver: £19.06 per troy ounce

In my eyes people switch to gold when everything else is looking to go south...
I've got a few car batteries to weigh in myself. I'm not sure what price they are at the moment but a month or so ago I got 30p a kilo for aluminium drink cans which by a little bit of working out means a single can is around a half penny each give or take...

Well if nothing else this serves to take predictions with a pinch of salt. The market looks to have just bimbled along without any major upsets or shocks. When I looked earlier it was just a shade under £1600...
