Just been hunting around for UK based survival forums. Not much to say about my self really, I work in IT, interests included amateur radio, traveling, reading, stealth camping, long walks on the beach...
Anyway hello.

Welcome aboard!
I'm pretty new here myself, heh. I'm gonna be looking to start learning amateur radio stuff soonish; definitely ideal for comms after an emergency.

Thanks for the intro
I'm also in IT, and a licensed radio amateur as well! Good to have you here!

Hi metatron, welcome to UK Preppers.
Now, could you tell me why I can't contact anyone on my handheld cb radio, please?

Re: Hello from Brighton
lol, depending where you are in the country CB is fairly dead, even in big cities there is not a mass of activity. The only thing you get down here is the odd dump truck as they still fit them in the cab of a few modeles and the odd old boy that still has his kit from the 70's/80's.smileyt wrote:Hi metatron, welcome to UK Preppers.

Most people that got into radio back in the heydays of CB gave it up or got a license and moved to HF/VHF/
UHF. People nowadays tend to go with PMR446 if they need a unlicensed radio, mostly based on price, size and availability.
