Devonian if I wanted to learn how to fight with some Dowling I would. I am 35 years old in top shape train MMA three times a week and go to the Gym three times a week all a part of prepping, so I think I shall leave the Dowling ha
Dont laugh but I actually looked for "Quarterstaff's" a while back , thinking of legal weapons http://www.quarterstaff.org/ but could not find any for sale.....
Worked OK for Gandalf
OOps edit : No such thing as legal weapons, calling them a weapon automatically makes it illegal

A quarterstaff is a proper weapon when used correctly I've never used one maybe ask Devonian he's a bad man with his Dowling ha
It all really does come down to personal preference, if I were richer I would collect all sorts of things knives included, knowing how to use your chosen "tool" defencivly or otherwise matters more than one versus the other.
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

I wasn't slating any type of knife over another in fact after watching a knife destruction review I have just ordered three different types of Hultafors to play around with and I have to say that for the price they look like an absolute bargain. We shall see I guess....
what you have to remember is that if you get into a knife fight (we're talking POST SHTF HERE MODS OKAY?) if your that close you can stab your opponent with a knife HE CAN DO THE SAME TO YOU, better not to get in that position in the first place " he who runs away lives to fight another day".
