No jab, no job

Post by korolev »

"It may be legal for companies to insist on new staff being vaccinated as a condition of their employment, the justice secretary has said."

Not torn by this one, I can understand the rationale but I'm uncomfortable with making vaccination a condition of employment.

Where do you stop though? Insist on a mandatory HIV test? Ask for proof of measles vaccination? Or insist on full - on access to your personal medical records? Perhaps we should get everyone lined up, jabbed up and tattooed to say so? Just watch out if you refuse to though and are asked to get on a train and go to the showers. More nonsense from the Covid fanatics.

I still haven’t decided if I’m having the vaccine yet, things like this make me more suspicious, I’m sure I’m not alone with that thought process, I’m less likely to do something if there is coercion or threats regarding freedom, whoever is pushing this agenda needs to understand that a large number of people won’t be bullied.

If vaccines work (I am not suggesting they don’t) & are safe, people will eventually have them, we don’t need these kind of threats.

Actually it's nothing new.

Want to work in the health service?

Hepatitis B immunisation is effectively mandatory. I quote "All HCWs who undertake Exposure Prone Procedures (EPPs) must provide evidence that they are not a hepatitis B infection risk and must provide proof of antigen and antibody level before being allowed to perform EPPs in compliance with Public Health England (2017)guidance. All documentation must be identity verified".

So you can decline Hep B vaccine but they can refuse to let you work in "risk" areas.

For EPP read anything that might expose them to patient's bodily fluids.

Long running debate about making Flu vaccine mandatory to protect patients. currently it is not.

I don’t want to work in the health service though...I want to go about my business as a free Englishman. I see the Dutch Supreme Court has ruled that draconian lockdown rules are illegal. Holland is another proud and free country.

That's fine with me. If people choose not to have the jab and therefore to not work, more jobs available for people who are inoculated and ready to jump into a job.

Because we have had such harsh measures to curb COVID-19 ( which to MOST people is not lethal), people have become more than a little alarmed and ,understandably afraid. Let’s face it, measures such as the government effectively shutting down the UK economy ,and denying family their human right to meet,( measures never seen before) ‘to stop the spread’ has sent that Message Of Fear.So- the moment we get a vaccine,( which is seen as mankind’s saviour by most)the aforementioned Fear leads people to say we should have martial law/vaccination passports/ compulsory vaccination/ or just insert the irrational statement of your choice. The vaccines are seen as a silver bullet, even though it is not clinically proven that being vaccinated actually stops the recipients from being infectious. We have yet to find out.The cynic in me could suggest that Boris&co like the idea of The Population being afraid.Fear makes people more amenable to restrictions.

We might forget ,because of all the above alarm, that we are a democratic and free country. A doctor on Radio 4 yesterday said that forcing a vaccination is both legally and ethically wrong. Also ,there are some, whether through medical reason,or religious reason, who are unable to be vaccinated against COVID-19.In the latter case, the denial of a job would be blatant discrimination. In fact, denial in the case of the former reason would be discriminatory.

I am NOT anti -vaccination..I AM pro-democracy.Fear breeds bigotry.

Just have the damn vaccine (unless you're prone to allergic reactions to vaccines)

Its tested, it's safe, it reduces transmission, it significantly reduces severe disease.
