WHO guidance on masks

Post by Appin »

This is the current WHO guidance on masks. Despite a lot of unfair criticism they do the best they can and this guidance is likely as good as it can be.

It is long and technical but covers the uncertainty. They rightly take a slight side swipe at all the talk about aerosols which may or may not be important for which the evidence is weak. The important thing is the reality of viable virus transmission not computer models of theory. Examples Detecting RNA is not proof of infection risk. An aerosol that travels 20 metres under lab conditions is not the same as the real world and nor does it show actual virus infections occur.

Worth a read before you rush to get any masks.
