Home Medical/Brexit Kit list

Post by Lemne »

I've been looking round at home medical kits and also stocking up for a bit for Brexit shortages and have come up with the following list. I know these are quite personal but is there anything glaringly obvious I have missed. The anti-biotics are just for reference.

ace bandages
triangular bandage
rolled gauze
sterile gauze pads
z-fold gauze
pressure dressing
abdominal pad
plasters
moleskin
tourniquet

medical silk tape roll
kt tape
steristrips
cling film 2in
safety pins

alcohol wipes
cotton buds
nail clippers
tactical tweezers
wound syringes
nitrile gloves
thermometer
scalpel
iodine
steripods
vaseline
scissors

2nd skin
Benadryl - diphenhydramine
sudafed - pseudoephedrine
asprin
paracetamol
ibuprofen
shit stopper
laxative
own medication
caffeine pills
throat lozenges
heartburn tabs/liquid
dioralyte sachets
cranberry extract

hydrocortisone cream
antibiotic ointment
daktarin
caneston tabs

anti-bacterial bar soap

antibiotics - ciprofloxacin, Amoxicillin, metronidazole

Are you first aid trained? That knowledge is more valuable than the kit itself. By the way, what exactly are tactical tweezers?

I have basic first aid at work but am going to do a further course. Hubs is better trained than me.

Tactical tweezers come to a sharp point instead of a flat end.

If you have training, you are ahead of the pack. Brilliant. I looked up the tweezers, it seems they are a ‘thing’ one lives and learns.

Up until last year, we had the same domestic situation. I get it. What can be dealt with at home, with otc remedies is always a good thing. Especially now that a consultation with a doctor is as rare as an audience with the Queen!
