unusual buildings like bunkers for sale

Post by kernewek »

Are there any specialist websites that deal with these or is it just a case of ploughing through normal estate agents sites?

I should imagine a bunker would cost a huge amount!! Not sure to be honest as the one near me was on farmers land and they bought it back as it was on their land, the same family still own it! I think it was costing a couple of million to keep it on standby and I know that in shtf situation a few of the very rich families around the area have paid for their places inside....

Not looking to buy one, more curious really. Always been interested in reading about secret places. Interestingly though one of the houses we looked at when we were thinking about buying many years back had a basic nuclear bunker in the garden. Didn't think much of it at the time as wasn't into prepping back then.

Hi,

If im reading this post correctly i think i have a few answers that may help you. Im a very keen photographer and love getting into places that either no one is interested in or havent been seen for ages.

I use sites that promote urbexing. strange word i know but its made up of two words.....urban exploration. Some very interesting posts on there. 28 days later and urbex are the sites i use but im sure there are many others.

From a prepping point these are great

some old MOD buildings come on the market every now and again, problem is most of the bigger bunkers are bought by data storage companies so you and me are not even gonna be close with an offer on it.

stuff comes up every now and again, normally in the middle of nowhere in the north of Scotland, keep looking you might get lucky

I cannot think why data storage companies will want them unless they are going to fill them with boxes of tapes. Using them for server farms won't work - the biggest problem is removing the heat and with thick concrete walls and underground rooms that will be difficult.

they put servers and hardware in them along with dehumidifiers , bunkers are naturally cool and well protected
