Steer clear of Blackspur then, don't write off other clones. I've used Hurricane lanterns of all makes for over 50 years of camping and the Fuerhand are way over priced.

Tonight a big Chalwyn on the shelf, clone and a Fuerhand and brewing on a Birmingham made 1950s Primus No210 clone and all working fine and dandy

As a stove collector I strongly suggest you learn to look after your kit and it will outlive you.

It's all well and good saying look after your kit but when they leak out the celophane or drop to bits without provocation there's not much you can do...

The Feuerhand can be had for £20 if you shop about

I like the old stuff even the copies and clones were decent quality unlike the modern junk back then even the Chinese stuff was good when they had to go toe to toe with the world's competition..

now the once great British manufacturing base is almost gone and firms stick their name onto the products churned out by Chinese factory which was the lowest quote for X thousand units ... and you've no chance of getting spare parts

which is why I mentioned the Feuerhand there's a local
ISH firm as I mentioned above in the globe link which I know I can order parts from be it a wick or a globe and all been well when I need it it won't let me down (fingers crossed)

The British made copies or just made in England were at one point a vastly superior product to what you can get now and as you say still work today..
