UCO candle lanterns are (in my opinion) excellent. I've three single ones and the triple candle lantern. I go camping every week year round and always take at least one with me. The candles are expensive ~£6 for three but they do burn for the nine hours as advertised and are pretty windproof (in the lantern obviously). Incredibly I've never broken the glass yet!

Famous last words on the glass front

I've 2 of their tea light versions the collapsible one seems very well made

The collapsible one is very well made the none collapsing one seems a little more fragile

+2 on the UCO candles, I have both the full size and the tea light collapsible versions.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Just wondering if you can make your own candles to suit them (that's the Yorkshire man in Me showing

Lil, Uco are 3.5” candles and are pretty expensive at around £2 a candle. I have some molds that I’m going to use one day to make some!
Cheapest tea lights I’ve seen are on eBay at £7.99 per 100 with free postage.

I just buy them off amazon, as mentioned pretty expensive but do last.
With regards to making them at home *allegedly* there's a magic ingredient in them to make sure they don't stick as the spring pushes them up as they burn. I suspect its a lie though. However, I do know the beeswax ones are rubbish.

Yes, powers stayed on thanks. Im actually away camping now (with a UCO lantern :D )
I'll be getting more headtorches and in the fullness of time swapping out battery torches USB torches for ease of recharging.
Interestingly, I had been pondering buying an msk multifuel stove but have gone off that idea now as using a petroleum stove indoors is not wise and the weather was so bad cooking outside wasn't feasible. I'll be sticking with the trangias.
Some uht milk would be good too but we probably wouldn't use it in everyday life so there's a risk of it going off.

Powdered milk Andy, mixed up then kept in the fridge. Tastes closer to fresh milk than anything.
