Yes i added a switch so the thing didn't just come on when I unplugged it. I seem to recall at least one had a row or two of D sized batteries ( ni_cads?) , no labels just silver coloured but these i used on other things. The couple i turned into work lights had the old lead batteries with the grey bodies and black tops . You can tell i can't remember the make :oops: . In the end they just didn't get any real use. I had mains power normally when working and lights were supplied and they just go to being something else to lump around "just in case" .
