Raddy SW3 wind up radio

Post by Yorkshire Andy »

My trusty silver crest Lidl wind up stopped holding charge so went shopping..

Settled on the raddy SW3 the Amazon man left it on the door step today

Initial thoughts seems solid. Area light is good spot light is a bit pants reflective strip is cheap stuff

Sound quality is good

The tuning knob is a bit rough and knotchy and the scale is a bit spaced out

Oh and it has a solar panel (to maintain charge) a winder and a usb charge inlet and you can charge a usb item from it

Oh and I have taken the Lidl radio apart I've got a new battery pack for £4, 5 mins with a soldering iron... It's as good as new  whilst a bit dated in terms of extras it's my bench mark of wind up radios it works it's ipx4 rated all the knobs are smooth and the scale is clear

No that's another let down still prefer my Lidl one but the inbuilt usb charging option wins the daily use prize as I don't need to faff about putting rechargeable batteries on charge unlike the Lidl one been on since 8am till half one still showing 100% charge

Still not a massive multi gadget fan... A torch is a torch w radio is a radio sort of attitude but the motion sensing mode will come in handy camping with the kids
