I'll be getting more headtorches and in the fullness of time swapping out battery torches USB torches for ease of recharging.
Interestingly, I had been pondering buying an msk multifuel stove but have gone off that idea now as using a petroleum stove indoors is not wise and the weather was so bad cooking outside wasn't feasible. I'll be sticking with the trangias.
Some uht milk would be good too but we probably wouldn't use it in everyday life so there's a risk of it going off.
Look at these can't go wrong for a tenner

Must admit the idea of a petrol stove inside doesn't sit well ever since I had to dump 2l of AFFF onto my Coleman 2 ring petrol stove on a camp site when it didn't light properly / my dad user error....

I've also got a couple of these that the lad came back with from army cadet camp ...

Rather than the expensive pre packaged gell packets.....

I use this

The chaffing gells are another indoor option but slower than meths

You can get a fancy little holder

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Highlander-Gel ... B092DZRJMV

Or use some chicken wire and save £8

Better at keeping stuff warm ideal if your cooking say spag bol boil the paster on the stove then simmer on the gell whilst you cook the meat for example

Still like my Chinese jet boil for a quick brew....

We are all electric fir cooking I've got a twin Ring LPG hob and a couple of bottles of LPG would love one with a grill though

I've butane and propane if it's cold propane wins every time ask any caravan owner ;)
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Just wondering if you can make your own candles to suit them (that's the Yorkshire man in Me showing
Many have tried, the main failing is the dissolveable wax.

Beeswax sheets and rolling your own maybe the the answer, they leave very little residue but don't burn as long.
If at first you don't succeed, excessive force is usually the answer.

I'll keep the original UCO as a back up for my back up for my back up.

The mini UCO and tealights can be used as my back up for my back up.

Blimey, you lot love UCO candles!

How'd you cope with the fridge/freezer with no electric?

Three hungry teenagers
Seriously, we just ate it all. It was also snowing so milk was put outside. Only thing we lost was a bag of oven chips.

I'd never heard of them 8-) :? I googled, obvs, and found lots at the bushcraft store. Interesting! But they look mostly for travel, with all that neoprene, so a torch would probably be better for me. I like the reflector though, thats nice.

Such a double act on the torches

I saw the rec for a head torch - just ordered one from Wilko, only two modes not four, but it comes on the same delivery sheet, so I'll live with that.
