What preps are you doing this week? part 2.

Post by preppingsu »

I'll kick off this new thread.

Been to Lidl and filled 2 trolleys. Some normal shop, some to stash away and some lovely Christmas goodies (they do nice Christmas food!!!)

My shelves look full which I like.

Sorting out my car kit. I've had a leaky boot so need to store it all in a sealed box so not to get wet again. I'm also aware that the roads to work will flood soon so I will need to make detours and probably get stuck in traffic so updating food and water too.

My daughter is receiving some Krav Maga instruction from my OH after some other girls outside had a problem with some nutter. It shook her up a little and instead of being reluctant to learn she is now keen to learn. For me, that is a huge prep!

Bit the bullet an ordered a Baofeng ham radio, aa battery converter and a magnetic aerial mount as well, going to go into the local ham radio shop to find a foundation licence course as well.

Checked over the van kit , added a few more batteries , shovel .

Need to replenish emergency chocolate supply , I ate it :o

I got my flu jab today, which I guess is kind of prepping...

I also got stuck in terrible traffic due to 2 accidents on the way home, unfortunately I'd eaten all of my in-car granola bar stash so plan to grab some on my way to work tomorrow. I think I'll also start an emergency chocolate supply :)

Cleared Tescos shelves of humzingers dried fruit bars. 3 for 2 offer.
Checkout girl coughed horribly into her hand so I insisted she wash her hands before serving me. Off she went, saying 'it's only a cold'. I moved to another checkout anyway. Think I'll use the automated ones from now on.

Bought a new chainsaw. Old one died. Mind you I did abuse it. We have so much firewood it will pay for itself in no time.

Well as i said in my last post in the old thread My pure 300w sine wave inverter turned up today,, quickly wired it up to test it and it run my TV and radio siliently without the really annoying buzz and the transformer for my laptop stayed cool

Just need to alter the wiring in my box to accomodate the different cable connection points on the new inverter (oh and it has a 5v usb charging point on it too :D
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine
