Re: Best preppin' tip. Don't announce it.

Fear not, my prepping continues! The next step might be to try and make the girly screaming more like a war-cry... I know what you were meaning by the 148 people thing, and it's a really interesting topic. As many other folk on here have said, it's almost certain that communities have the best chanc...

Re: Best preppin' tip. Don't announce it.

So...my question is: how many people is the ideal number? After a lot of thought I reckon maybe 4-6? 148, well according to some that have studied our social evolution, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunbar's_number That is not good news! I can barely tolerate 8 other people, let alone 148! Maybe I s...

Re: Best preppin' tip. Don't announce it.

I can't make up my mind about this one - I know of 3 folk I like (well one is tolerable, the other 2 I like!) who are definitely of the prepper mentality, although whether they've actually made any preps is a different matter. As for making up the rest of the numbers, I can think of a few people who...

Re: What medicines to store?

A few weeks ago I discovered a goldmine of old prescriptions and whatnot in the spare room. After checking the dates most of them were OK so I managed to bump the first aid kit up a bit to include: Shedloads of Ibuprofen & Paracetamol Diclofenac (sp?) I know some people have a bad reaction to th...

Re: Maps- Marking out

What I've been doing is looking up walking routes in the areas near my BOLs and marking them on my maps to give me an idea of how close people could be. I suppose it depends where about you are (I'm up in the Scottish Highlands so there's a lot of popular walking routes all over the shop, and plenty...

Re: Best preppin' tip. Don't announce it.

I've been having a good long think about this one. The only person that knows I prep is my mother, and luckily she's pretty logical and level-headed so she thinks it's a good idea. Unfortunately, she doesn't have much interest in doing anything herself but that's fine because if SHTF, I'll be saving...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week

I've been scouring through OS maps looking for BOLs on the nightshift. My work colleagues are giving me shifty looks but a good, solid frown in their direction gets rid of them

Hello from Inverness!

Well, after a long time playing in the woods practicing woodland survival and bushcraft etc. I've discovered a new-found love for prepping, too. I work as an IT support analyst on the nightshift (the joys) which gives me far too much free time to feed my imagination and plan what I'm going to do whe...
