Re: Easiest alcohol to make?

When I first started wine making I brought a bung and an airlock and that was it. The wine was prepared with everyday kitchen utensils and fermented in a gallon whisky bottle. As said cleanliness and sterilising is a good habit to get into although it is possible to brew using wild yeast so the must...

Re: when is enough

It is a very good question, how much IS enough? I saw a similar question asked on an American site ( although that brought the usual ,"until I have a million rounds of ammo "etc. ) D Reading just how many rounds were fired by the US military in Iraq brings up a figure of between 250...

Re: when is enough

I suppose it all depends upon what the biggest worry is. To be fair and to assure those who may feel unprepared then for probably the majority of events a couple of weeks to a month will be sufficient. It's only larger and rarer events that may really NEED a huge store. That said I would aim for as ...

Re: Paris Pandemonium!

I dare say that if the people at Charlie Hebdo had been armed then they would have fought back and perhaps not all of them would have been killed. However , that said I still think the comment from Interpol about arming the population is at best naive . Firstly if we had an armed population attacks ...

Re: "best" 4x4 off and on road

I don't have a great experience with 4x4's , a friend had a pajero and loved it despite as he said it being somewhat uneconomical to run and being surprisingly small on the inside for the size of the vehical. He eventually swopped it for a transit but did miss his pajero. I've also had friends with ...

Re: Paris Pandemonium!

Perhaps the first prep is to try to identify potential targets. As the last post suggests out in the country should be fairly safe , towns and cities with larger populations and therefore potentially higher causalities less so. Buildings or areas with governmental and/or military connections are lik...

Re: if shit hit the fan how will you be cooking!?

Regarding the use of gas the obvious need to store quanties of the stuff did make me wonder if there are legal limits as to what can be stored in the same was as petrol for instance. The large tanks seen at some houses without mains gas would seem the best bet for a larger quanity as if I'm reading ...

Re: Prepper Awareness

As mods we often predict an increase in new members especially when a new episode of Doomsday Preppers is being shown  and usually we're right..... Guilty as charged M'lud . I hadn't thought about or knew about prepping until I had seen a couple of episodes and was only then I realised...

Re: Keyring EDC

can we return to the topic. What small items would be most useful to have on a Keychain EDC ? Can I add, Hand Sanitiser I've carried a P38 tin opener on mine for years and at times a small nail trimmer and file set, not for manicuring purposes but sometimes when working a nail can get broken and be...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? part 2.

it really scared me how much a pint now costs at a wetherspoons. £3 for a cheap one! That would mean that a session could have set me back near £60 at the rate I used to get through it in a night :) :o :o £60 , that would be 20 pints at £3 a pint! I rarely have more than a couple , six and I'm like...
