Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

~ ~Jansman & Jan xx~~ But we're all in the same boat ultimately, just a lot of us don't know it yet. I even appreciate this tiny wee hamster hutch now as it'll be so easy to run when one of us is left. That's so true. We don't know when, and we've got space to *hope* it will be far in the futur...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

So I can honestly say that my preparation for the ultimate ending is about there. Sorry to sound grim perhaps, buts *thats life* Since illness has been confirmed, treated, being treated etc. I’ve had time to alter things for my wife. We’d only been wed for two months and we had an ice storm/ snow...

Re: Importing medical kits and tourniquets?

I don’t know about medical kit,I’m not a doctor, but right now with my illness I know about tourniquets!  The ones used on me are just rubber straps with a knot into a hole, and trust me they work. Cheap as chips. You ever had a tourniquet on your arm? Trust me,you don’t need any posh stuff...

Re: Pallet Wood quality Question

I’m with Yorkshire Andy on this. Pallets work. My main workshop was built with 3 concrete panel walls and the front overlapped PALLETS :D. As noted by YA as a good idea, mine were soaked in creosote and used car oil ,drained and fixed. 34 years ago! I also have a lot of picket fence made and treated...

The small sprout spuds in the pantry I’ve shoved in pots outside. Each one will be a boiling. :D

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11

An emergency I have always stocked is water. 25 litre containers. My illness now won’t allow me to sling them on my shoulders now  so my wife certainly cannot. Therefore we are storing 2 litre bottles in the pantry, and plenty. Easier bottle to exchange and rotate, and fill when empty to. JM you...

Re: Solar panel bargain...

I've been doing a bit of reading because of this thread, about adding in a solar panel bought later - it sounds like the new panel has to be the same wattage as the existing panel. It *can* be different, but that needs extra care etc etc taken, and it seems much simpler to just get a panel at the s...
