thanks for all the replies, i told my mate today about it and hes decided to play it safe and have it down.
theres no chance he will plant anything in its place though.

which is a shame, his garden his huge and could take on so much stuff if he could be bothered

so its definitely worth having a baby grab bag then, my thinking was having it in my own bag with my stuff but maybe having there little thing sitting by the door is a good idea.

just need to figure out a way of persuading the wife that the baby needs a paracord bracelet lol
