Re: Being hounded to get a smart meter
I eventually used their complaints procedure and threatened them with Ombudsman and said that I would report them for harassment. I got a very nice reply saying that they would remove me from their contact list and have not received a call, text or email since.

Re: Nuclear threat
After watching Threads I am unlikely to try and preserve my own life or that of my family members. Radiation sickness looks horrific, not to mention the aftermath of a nuclear attack and I would likely recommend them walking towards the light. Sorry if this offends anyone, but just my personal opini...

Re: Advice for a hopeless gardener
Over run with baby cucumbers which are being given to anyone who will have them, I am a keen believer in sharing the harvest. Lots of courgettes, carrots tops are huge this year and wondering whether the actual carrots are big or very small, I need to have a look. My bell peppers in the greenhouse a...

Re: Van Life
Go for it. Plenty of full timers on Youtube, from car campers up to Luton Box vans. And a lot of them are starting to post of damage to their vans, attempted and actual break ins, bricks through windows etc. People living on residential streets are getting fed up of people parking their vans/camper...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 10
Today I have been mostly prepping for my Dad, he is own his own since we lost Mum and although fit and active at the moment at 84 I would rather he not be climbing into the bath for a shower. His bathroom is over ready for a makeover and so rather than just removing the bath we will replace everythi...

Re: Snails galore
Touch wood, we have had few of either this year. We do seem to have quite a few frogs and toads around though so they will no doubt be helping with the slug issue. Lots of birdlife here too, although we haven't seen the Thrush who usually eats all of the snails.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 10
Congrats Yorkshire Andy, I re-took my EFAW last year. Sadly it may be my last as I am struggling terribly with my knees and as people requiring CPR are mostly on the floor and I may not be able to kneel down they would not pass me. I guess I could still be useful by instructing someone else how to d...

Re: Survival truck ...
Proper fancy that! Not much space to carry stuff though and would need a trailer unless you had an equally impressive bug out location. Not exactly stealthy either and not at that price. Would like to see if it could stand up to their promises of it being impenetrable to external forces, notice that...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 10
Life has been busy over the last few weeks so a few jobs have been neglected. We failed to plant any spuds this year, gave the squashes a miss as they spread everywhere but give a tiny harvest. Everything else is thriving. Planning for winter 23/24, need to chop the wood we have, order a couple of d...

Re: Where do you store your food?
We are just having a new kitchen, more storage/cupboard space but less worktops. We could not have both and so decided on the cupboard space, if push comes to shove at times such as Christmas when I am feeding the 5000 I will bring in a camping table for extra worktop space. We do have an understair...
