Few days before top up the freezer with ice packs and pop bottles 3/4 full of water stick it on fast freeze.. Then back to normal once chilled down ... Then few hours before power goes off whack it on fast freeze again to chill it right down. Once power is off unplug it and pile old blankets / duvet...

Are your freezers modern fancy electronic controlled ones?
If so ideally you need a pure sine wave voltage regulated generator unit....
Remember without a licence you can only store 30l of PETROL without a licence in approved containers..
