Re: Medical scenario 1

My own personal thought would be to torniquet for a catastrophic bleed, but to release it every hour for a short period.
That's what I was taught many moons ago, but only when ambulances aren't readily available and it's likely to be a while before one gets to the casualty.

Re: Warning Signals In Your Urine Color

Just as point of interest I'm sure I read somewhere that urine smelling of sugar puffs is an indication of too much sugar in your system.

Which doesn't necessarily mean you're diabetic but if it smells of sugar puffs regularly I'd be tempted just to mention to your GP next time you see 'em.

Re: Car BOB

Just a thought on the urinal/bottle idea, back in the dim dark past I was a HGV driver, I always found a recently emptied and rinsed 1 litre (or 2 litre depending on need) plastic milk carton did a good enough job for an overnight stay, they have a screw top and if placed in the opposite foot well o...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? part 2.

Managed to pick up one of the folding saws from lidl, and took delivery of a small butane stove and 8 gas cans. We did the usual with the shopping and picked up a few bits and pieces extra, if the wife sees how much sugar is in the cupboard she'll take my bank card off me, I'll wake up one morning a...

Re: car safety hammer.

Found this today and just figured I should let everyone know, I've already got one so I haven't checked it out so I don't have a clue about the quality etc but at this price it's got to be worth a punt http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/emergency-car-hammer-49p-home-bargains-2165565?utm_source=Newslett...

Re: New Skills - what are you learning for 2015

The wife and I went to an archery club at the beginning of the month, I used to do a bit a thousand years ago when I was young. Much to the wife's amazement she really enjoyed it and has asked to go again, unfortunately she's been a bit unwell the last couple of weeks but we should be going back thi...

Re: What are you dehydrating?

OK so now I've got two bags of chicken bbq and chicken jerk crisps, yep I over did it again, the flavour is fine but I'm going to start the next load overnight then check it in the morning rather than starting it during the day and letting it run overnight. The receipe book says 16 hrs for meat prod...

Re: What preps are you doing this week? part 2.

Bought 2 fire extinguishers from Lidl, had massive row with wife in car park, thought to myself thank God she didn't see the extra paracetamol I picked up at the same time. Ordered another 2 torches from amazon then ordered a pack of 10 keyring 1 led torches. Decided I've got almost enough torches n...
