I hold quite a lot of gold and silver. Physical. Not paper. Never paper!
Prices are high by historical standards but plenty of movement in either direction possible. Depends on your gloominess about the economy, Sterling, and inflation prospects.

Re: No jab, no job
That is true. The difficulty is that your principles (if you worked for me) would cost me my cash. If your principles cost you your cash then that would be different. And I would respect them more if you personally suffered as a result. In my experience, principles are very easy to hold if they cost...

Re: No jab, no job
I riled against your posts perhaps unfairly. I agree 100% with the personal freedom angle - I rant to my friends and family to death about rights and police powers 😬 What grated for me was the comparison with other diseases and the harm to self versus harm to others balanced with the obligations of ...

Re: Securing a camper
I’d say:
- CCTV around the house - or a Ring doorbell
- Tracker
Other physical security can be very easily removed if so motivated.
The ‘number plate on the roof’ idea is genius. I’d never thought that and it’s so obvious. As all brilliant ideas are!

Re: No jab, no job
As I said earlier,it ain’t that lethal to most. Have the vaccination,by all means, but NOT having it should not be a bar to earning a living. 110%. Was true a year ago. Even more truer now. The stats are quite encouraging. The vaccine, even after a single dose, provides very good protection. Those t...

Re: Who's getting the vaccine
Both parents and both in-laws have had a vaccine over the last few weeks. Zero side effects at all. Tiny bit of injection soreness but nothing worth a mention. All in their late 70s.
All had Oxford jab if that makes a difference.

Outstanding. Proper forward thinking and unapologetic prepsJerseyspud wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 5:40 pm Hi all. Been a prepper on and off for a few years. Re: Lack of physical silver
Why would that be? I'm planning on buying and storing bullion (or more likely scrap) in the same way that I've stored banknotes, I have some extra money so I'm going to put it away rather then going out and spending it. Why? Probably paranoia. But grounded paranoia. When fiat systems get stressed, ...

Re: Lack of physical silver
We shouldn’t put everyone off holding precious metals. Some funds are bad. Paper gold is bad (other than for trading). But... There are several providers out there who will hold your gold for you. It is specific to you and allocated to you. It is all yours. The storage is audited by recognised accou...
