Re: clansman radios

I used the clansman 349 back in my army cadet days. Many many moons ago... I remember having to carry a BATCO pad around my neck and decode messages.

All digital and encrypted now so no BATCO required

Re: Training your pets to be assets

The hens had to go when I had spinal surgery a few months ago :(

I still have a cat which kills anything that moves and a springador that is frightened of big bangs, useless gun dog but great guard dog

Re: Winter prep..

All good suggestions, I am fortunately quite well stocked already. I thought ahead and went on a spending spree before she could get her hands on my cards :) I've been toying with the idea of winter tyres but I think in the south east snow chains are uncalled for... The coldest its been down here re...

Re: Money suggestions

That'...

Just as luxurious as living at home plus it came with solar panels and charge controller so you have electricity. All you need to do is fill fresh water and diesel and empty the toilet from time to time. If I h...

Re: Water purification

Also always assume water in UK has had rats pissing in or around it.... A few water users round my way have come down with weils disease, it can kill.

I'm not 100% if chlorine or boiling killl it either.

I would boil or treat THEN filter, hopefully that will do it .

Re: Major Sun Burn - worth keeping treatment

Don't put greasy creams onto burnt skin until it has cooled down (24 hours)... Keep some aloe Vera gel in the minibar fridge. It cools and soothes.
