Re: seeds

Id recommend real seeds but some one already has, they actually have a section on prepping seeds discouraging it for the reasons Jansman mentioned. Id suggest you get allotments, waiting lists are long at the moment but you will learn so much from the older wiser hands who have done this for many ye...

Re: 2020 Potential Economic Collapse

The pension money I have is in three little pots - it only totals about £60k, which I realise is a lot of money but its a tiddler in pension terms - its too small for some firms to even look at, even as a total. Re: Vacuum packing and long term storage.

I dehyrade and vacuum seal but I don't use oxygen abzorbers, but I do double bag, I vacuum seal into the plastic bags then I store them inside mylar bags. The mylar bags cut out uv light to help it last longer and it also prevents food spells spoiling nearby goods. An example would be I dehydrate 9 ...

Re: Those shielding until a vaccine is found

I am avoiding all shops and people, so thats semi shielding but I am trying to get out when I can for fresh air etc as I suspect a second wave will be arriving in the Autum so trying to 'enjoy' the calm between the storms...

Re: Berkey filter hacks

yes the british filters fit the berkey system and tbh are better than the berkey ones. They have a rounded top which stop the water spashing back at you as you fill. I wont be buying original berkey filters again

Re: Allotments Plan Adjoining Back Of Property

Bonfires and noisy machines would be your most trouble. They do attract the odd theif, as they store tools in sheds etc. But on balance, if you treat them right you might get free veg!
