Re: N.H.S. views and experiences
Well the ins and outs of political doings aren't the big thing for us here- our job is to find ways round them. Any ideas and "fixes" welcome - we've already had some good ones. I've got two fixes in relation to dental work: - brother had a hygiene appointment set up, and the dentist call...

Re: N.H.S. views and experiences
I should also say that I took no pleasure in writing my posts. I’m genuinely concerned for both the NHS and my side of the trench that is social care. Indeed. I just watched the first Putin v The West and it specifically references the 2012 opening event of the Olympics, and how proud we are of the...

Re: N.H.S. views and experiences
As preppers what can we do? Absolutely nothing. Try and take care of our health as best we can I suppose and prepare for the end of the NHS which is free at the point of delivery. That's becoming more and more important. I follow what's happening in my local NHS trust, and honestly, between infecti...

I work as a community MH worker and deal with the NHS on a daily basis at work, I’m also on the bank for an alcohol rehabilitation unit as well. There’s a hell of a lot of things that could be done to save money in the day to day running of the NHS, to give you an example, often patients get discha...

Re: Buying a new(to me) car
Hi Forgecorvus, I'm not a car person but I *have* just bought a new-to-me car. I don't know if even the carmaker would be relevant to you, as you want an estate car. I bought a Toyota Aygo, one of the smallest cars available, but it's computerised like the dickens, I can't believe it's easy for old ...

Hello unsure, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of your wife. I'm not at all surprised you lost your way for a while, I think it's inevitable to be honest: it's as much as you can do to keep going. I'm glad to see you back here! Remember that you haven't *finished* grieving, it's just moved on to an...

Home Bargains website has gone doolally (technical term, dontcha know). It's showing a store only just over a mile away from me, that doesn't exist - that area's all mock tudor commuter homes built in the 1930s. After a bit more jiggery pokery, it started showing another one, and hunting around ther...

Hello Jeff, welcome to the forum - sounds like you've got your living situation sorted really well, which is a fantastic start. And you also sound like you'll fit right in, those categories are very much what we focus on here.

Re: Back once again!
Hello Pete, welcome back. Sorry to hear that you were confronted with the ex wanting a divorce - especially during lockdown, that's an especially difficult time for it. And "what if" is the perennial prepper question, isn't it - about everything.

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 11
Even the animals can be an issue, of course. My old school mate and neighbour is suffering from the same ‘C’ in his body as me ,and is limited for time too. He has found a home for his dog two doors down, and shares her regularly in order for her to get used to a new home. That's a really good idea....
