Re: Home Security Upgrades

I recently set up a covert off grid camera to catch antisocial behaviour. The stalker had been covering the existing camera in the location and damaging the cable. I located the camera in a Spax screws box (they have a window). It was dumped in a plant pot like discarded rubbish. It was a wifi camer...

Using Drones for recon- bugging in & out

Whether Buggin in or out. Knowing what is going on around you is key to your safety. Look at how the Ukraine resistance are utilising consumer drones, mostly donated to them for recon and offense. I have been flying model aircraft on and off since I was a kid. When FPV &/orusing phone WiFi over ...

Re: Wind and Hydro Generators

I have used ex Navy submarine cells in the past for an off grid install. 3k Ah, 6Kw wind turbine & 2kwp solar. Set up in a farm in Scotland the entire battery set up was 8 tonnes!! That's a lot of batteries !!! And with that much weight, I'm guessing it was > 24V ? Did you invert it back to mai...

Re: Wind and Hydro Generators

If you want to go hybrid you need a battery room and ideally true deep cycle cells & training on how to manage them without blowing yourself up. I have used ex Navy submarine cells in the past for an off grid install. 3k Ah, 6Kw wind turbine & 2kwp solar. Set up in a farm in Scotland the ent...

Re: Wind and Hydro Generators

Grid connected solar. Grid connected solar will not give you power when tge Grid goes down unless you have an off grid option installed. If your install includes a battery, it may still not give you power when the Grid goes down unless you have an off grid option aspart if the install. A grid synchr...

I think there is an urban harvest in Oxford, mainly apples which are juiced. There are at least 7 community orchards. I know where there are loads of damsons annually and an annual harvest of Chicken of the woods fungi which is tasty and easily dried. I love skips I still don't understand community...

Re: Long time survivalist/prepper, new to this forum- hello from Oxfordshire

The problem with the climate emergencis the speed of change. The climate has changed before, but over geologic time and so plants and animals have evolved to meet the changes. Climate change in 300 years is the catastrophe. This is habitat loss for humans. It takes a paradigm shift to understand how...

I was also ignoring Aerosol Masking. About half a degree I think. Yes, you have to add that to the 1.2 to see where we really are headed. For anyone not familiar...when we burn FF, we emit dirty particles. All but one typeblock sunlight and cause cooling. As we stop using FF, the dimming/cooling wi...

Interesting forum, nice to read through the willingness to share info posts & posts welcoming nooks. I have been a primitavist for a very long time, at least 20+ years & prepper for about 5. I have taught adults bushcraft from time to time. I lived off grid for 12 years (solar & wind po...
